You will find the resort just off Highway 40 heading towards Kananaskis, at the edge of Kananaskis Country. It describes itself as 45 minutes west of Calgary. In a straight line, downtown Calgary is 66.3 km away.

The floor after dinner

On the floor at Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino, more than 300 slot machines are open 10 am to 4 am, Monday to Sunday. Table games run 2 pm to 3 am, Monday to Sunday: Roulette, Blackjack and Ultimate Texas Hold'em Poker. Table counts and minimums are not published. On Friday and Saturday nights, No-Limit Texas Hold'em cash games start at 7 pm. A Games Manager or a pit supervisor has the details, or call 403-881-2832.

Quiet hours and house rules
Hotel quiet hours run from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. Parties and gatherings beyond a room's booked occupancy, or that create noise, are prohibited. Guests of legal age may bring their own alcohol and drink it in their room only. The lobby, halls and other public areas are off limits for it.
Smoking in hotel rooms is prohibited and carries a $500 cleaning fee. Cannabis may be used only in designated areas. Please ensure that children aged 12 and under are supervised at all times. Pets are allowed in a limited number of rooms, at $25 per pet per night and no more than two per room. Apart from the hotel's refrigerator, cooking appliances are not allowed, kettles and coffee makers included.
The land under the resort
Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino is one of six Host First Nation casinos in Alberta. It stands on reserve land of the Stoney Nakoda First Nation at Morley. The Mini Thni Foundation is its designated licensed charity. Host First Nation casino proceeds go to charitable and religious programs that benefit the community.
The resort recognizes Treaty 7 territory, the traditional lands of the Siksika, Piikani, Kainai, Tsuu T'ina and Stoney Nakoda Nations, as the ground on which it stands. It writes: "As guests and hosts here, we commit to building respectful relationships and contributing to reconciliation."
Alberta's online market
Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino is a land-based resort, and none of its own pages names an online casino. Alberta has a regulated online gaming market, managed by the Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC) and regulated by AGLC. A legal operator holds AGLC registration and an AiGC operating agreement, and must allow play only from inside Alberta. Any site can be checked in AiGC's directory at abigaming.ca. Play Alberta, at PlayAlberta.ca, is the province's own site, run by AGLC.
Paid links on this guide's home page, marked Ad, lead to an online casino partner. That partner is not connected with the resort. The guide earns a commission, and the partner can change.
